7	David and Robert Vance by Christine Goodnough David Vance, son of Joseph and Sarah Vance and brother of our great grandfather, married Margaret Bullard on March 31, 1873. She was the daughter of John and Delia Bullard. According to the marriage registration she was about 23 and he was about 22. David and Margaret were both born in Ontario, he in Blandford township, Oxford County; she in North Easthope township, Perth County; they were married in Perth County. This couple departed somewhat from the standard family names. As near as I can tell from census records, they were ages 30 and 29, so she lost a couple of years. Nice! Their children were: Joseph Charlotte Sarah William E Henry Jessie E They are listed in the 1881 Ontario census, but after this David and Margaret moved to Michigan--probably had more children--and are listed in the 1900 US census as living at Reno, Iosco County. Robert Vance, another brother, married Margaret Jane Warden in Wentworth, Ontario on Feb 7, 1859. 10	In Memory of BOBBY J VANCE October 21, 1937 - October 21, 2012 Obituary Bobby Jack Vance, age 75, passed away on Sunday, October 21, 2012, in Kingsport, after an extended illness. Mr. Vance resided in Kingsport most of his life. He graduated from Sullivan High School in 1956, where he played football. Mr. Vance was a member of Gate City United Methodist Church. He proudly served as a military police officer in the United States Army, as well as the Army Reserves. Mr. Vance worked with his father in his families guttering business and went on to work for Orkin and Tennessee Eastman Chemical Company. He was a plumber by trade, and also worked in iron and metal, having helped build the Ft. Henry Mall. He... He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and most of all, spending time with his family. He never met a stranger and enjoyed making everyone laugh. Many knew him as Papaw or Papaw Hippie. Mr. Vance was preceded in death by his parents Charles Taylor and Della Mae (Hagie) Vance; his brother and sister-in-law, James Robert (J.R.) and Wanda Madeline (Carr) Vance; a son-in-law, William "Jenner" Johnson IV ,along with several nieces and nephews. Bobby Jack is survived by his loving wife and amazing caregiver of 54 years, Illionia "Jo" Cole Vance; three loving daughters and son-in-laws: Darla and Fred Cope, Lisa (Johnson) and Matt Young and Regina (Carr) and Kevin Gallatin; grandchildren: Cathy Dianne Cope, Jeremy Carr and wife Krystal, Aleisha Johnson and Josh Stevenson and Bo Carr; great grandchildren: Taylor McCracken, Max Cope, Matthew Carr and Maleia Stevenson, several very close cousins and a special son-in-law, Shannon Carr.
