10. Adam: no proof yet obtained that mentions said Adam as his son. An agreement/document dated 5/1818 between Mr. Hoke and Adam, Jr. was located. No further information. Is not listed/mentioned in the deed/land transfers c1834-37; perhaps dec'd by this time.
1790--An "Adam VANCE" is listed in the 1790 PA Census; York Co., Monaghan Twp with 1 male over 16y; 2 males under 16y; and 3 females. Not sure if this is for the same man (Adam Wentz), there are other Wentz/Wantz/Vance families in the York Co. area-- including men named Adam who would be approximately the same age. (Note--on the chance that the Adam listed on the census record is the same man as Adam b.1762-- the children/ages that appear on the census record coincide with the children being listed in the baptismal register for Adam b.1762)
1792--Adam's children, Henry, Robert and Mary are all baptized at Salem/Strayer's Church in Dover Twp., York Co., PA on 25 June 1792.
1793--An "Adam Wentz" purchases land in Rockbridge Co., VA in February 1793. Not sure if this Adam Wentz is the same person as Adam Wentz b. 1762. Note that Adam's cousins, the c/o Urban Wentz and also the Wilhelm's are located iin Rockbridge.
1794--His daughter Elizabeth, though born in October 1790 per the church register, was baptized in April 1794, at Salem/Strayer's Church also.
1798--(Greenbrier Co., (W)VA Court; 25 April 1798) Motion on Adam Vance, together with Berryman Jone's as his security, entered into bond in the penalty of 100 pounds and was granted a certificate for Letters of Admin., of Jacob Vance, deceased. 1800--PA Census; York Co., Manchester Twp. "Adam Wentz"; 1 male 26-45; 2 females under 10y; and 1 female 26-45y.
1802--(Monroe Co., WV; Deed Book A, pg. 194) Adam Wantz purchases 109 acres of land on the waters of 2nd Creek, from Philip & Elisabeth Holsaple. 2 July 1802.
1803--Adam Vance, is granted 10 acres of land by the Commonwealth of VA (Treasury Warrent# 1518; dated 21 Dec. 1803) (surveyed on 9 Oct. 1804) on the waters of Carpenter's Run; a branch of Second Creek; this tract adjoins the lands of James Humphrey's; land of sd. Adam Vance and also Nelson's heirs. 26th October 1807. (This land appears to be part of a tract originally owned by James Humphrey) Adam holds the patent on this land. The grant recites "Adam Vance assignee of James Humphreys.
August 1807--Adam appears as a sureity on the marriage bond for his daughter Mary (Polly) to Conrad Cart. Adam signs his name "Adam Wentz".
August 1814--Adam Wantz is one of the administrators for his son, Robert's estate (along with sd. Robert's widow, Mary). Adam is listed on a deed conveying a tract of land in Greenbrier County, containing 87+ acres, from John & Susannah Cart to "Adam Wantz and Mary Wantz, administrators of the estate of Robert, deceased"..

1827--Adam's estate is entered into probate in April 1827.
27 September 1834; Monroe Co. Deed Book "O", pg. 425: Indenture between Henry Vance & Betsey his wife; Charles Kyle and Catharine his wife of the county of Greenbrier and Philip Vance & Sally his wife; John Vance & Cristena his wife of Monroe County, of one part and William Vance of Monroe County of the other part. The parties of the first part, in consideration for $1 paid to each of them by the sd. William Vance, they release their right/interest to sd. William Vance in a certain tract of land in Monroe County, belonging to the heirs of Adam Vance, deceased. Said land is on Carpenter's Run and adjoins the lands of Philip Holsapple and others (where sd. William now lives). (This deed was not recorded until 9 October 1835).
15 September 1837; Monroe Co. Deed Book "L", pg. 487: Conrad Cart & wife Mary; Jacob Wantz & wife Catherine; Mathew Doland & wife Elizabeth, of Greenbrier County, convey to Alexander Jackson of Monroe Co. their interest in a tract of land of which Adam Wantz, deceased, died seized of and in possession of at the time of his death and which sd. Conrad Cart and his wife Mary, late Mary Wantz, were entitled to by the death of her father, Adam Wantz, also in like manner all interest which Jacob Wantz and wife Catherine, Mathew Dolan and wife Elizabeth, late Elizabeth Wantz, all heirs of Adam Wantz, deceased and which sd. Conrad Cart is entitled by virtue of purchase of sd. heirs and said heirs do now deed to Alexander Jackson two tracts of land; 109 acres tract sold to sd. Adam Wantz by Philip Holsapple and wife Elizabeth in 1802; and 10 acres which was patented to Adam Wantz, next to Wilson.
