- Speculative! But interesting!
The reason I bring a brother into the fold is because in Obion I've found records of a W.C. Vance, age 52 in a Obion 1870 census, hes living with Francis, Lourethra, John W., Mary J, another Mary J, and William P. making him born around 1818, 2 years before Martin.....AHHA theres William P. hes 20 in the 1870 census, making him born abt. 1850....I bet W.C. Vance is Martins brother, and William P. Vance is his son, Martin's nephew... hmmmm Ok its sort of coming together. Theres a bunch of kids here, an Edward, etc....These must be Martin's brothers and their kids, sometimes all living together, sometimes living with other relatives.
