26 January, 1810-- Robert marries Mary Cart (d/o John & Susanna Cart??) by Josiah Osborne
22 August 1814-- Robert Wentz/Wantz is deceased by this time; his estate is appraised and valued at $ 163+; in Greenbrier Co., WV.
23 August 1814-- (Greenbrier Co. Deeds, Vol. 5; pg. 616-619) John & Susanna CART convey to Adam Wantz and Mary Wantz, the administrators of the estate of Robert Wantz, deceased and their heirs, a parcel of land containing 87-1/2 acres in Greenbrier Co., for the sum of $1.
[From the above information is it assumed that the Adam Wantz mentioned is the father of the sd. Robert Wantz, deceased and Mary Wantz above mentioned, is the widow of the sd. Robert Wantz, deceased.]
1815 Greenbrier Co., WV Tax List: listed is "Mary Vance" with a horse and cow-- possibly the widow of Robert Wantz.
3 Jan. 1833-- (Deed Bk. 13; pg. 317) (possibly not "recorded" until 1834)-- Power of Attorney granted by the Heirs of Robert Vance: Mary Vance, widow of Robert, late of Greenbrier; Sarah Denner, late Vance, daughter of Robert & Mary and Katherine Vance; now all of Ross Co., OH. This was granted to Michael Denner. The document was signed on 3 January 1833.
(It appears that the estate of Robert Wantz, deceased (1814), is now entering the final phase(s) of settlement--- approximately 18+ years after his death. Does this mean that the youngest child of Robert & Mary Cart Wantz/Vance is now of full age?????)
1834-- (Greenbrier Deed Book 13; pg. 295)-- Title Bond: John Vance, et al to John Kenny. Re: estate of Robert Vance, deceased, late of Greenbrier Co. Mary Vance, widow. Children: John Vance, Catherine Vance and Sarah Vance, wife of Michael Denner.
November, 1835--(Greenbrier Co. Deed Bk. 14, pg. 12)--- John Vance/Vantz and Margaret, his wife, of the state of Indiana grant Michael Denner of Ross Co., OH Power of Attorney, to act on the estate of Robert Vance, deceased, late of Greenbrier Co., VA.
October, 1836-- (Greenbrier Co. Bk. 14; pg. 14)-- Heirs of Robert Vance (Wantz), deceased, late of Greenbrier Co., convey to John KENNY, 83 acres of land on Howards Creek. (Appears to be the property that was conveyed to Adam Wantz & Mary Wantz, the administrators of the estate of Robert Wantz, deceased, and their heirs in August 1814 by John & Susanna Cart.) Mary Vance is listed as the widow; Sarah Vance Denner, Thornton Vance & Katherine Vance, his wife, nee Vance and John Vance & Elkhart(sic) his wife of Elkhart, Indiana (should read Margaret his wife)-- are the children/heirs of said Robert Wantz/Vance deceased.
1850 OH Census; Ross Co.-- a "Mary Vance, aged 58years, birthplace unknown" is listed with the family of Daniel and Mary Fisher. Is this the same person as Mary Cart Wantz/Vance??
1850 OH Census; Ross Co., Twin Twp-- a "Mary Vance, aged 60 years, birthplace unknown" is listed with the family of Catherine VINCE and family. Is this the same person as Mary Cart Wantz/Vance?? Catherine would appear to be the daughter of Robert (dec'd) and Mary Cart Wantz/Vance. (The Dener/Denner family is also residing here-)
