Being that they were married in 1817, it's very likely that they had at least one child by c1820. The 1830 and 1840 census schedules both indicate that they had a female child born c1820.

July, 1821-- Jacob purchases a tract of land containing 171+ acres from William Fenton (of Champaign Co., OH); parcel of land is situated in Monroe Co., on the ridge between Carpenter's Run and Bushy Run; both being branches of Second Creek.

September, 1821-- Jacob Vance & Catharine, his wife, sell the above listed tract of land to James Fury for $1.
